FMC Fire Web Design Project
Overview
FMC Fire is an established company in the fire safety industry. They sell a range of products surrounding fire safety from Fire Extinguishers to Wireless Fire Alarms. Their website played a key role in letting people place their quotes online.
The Brief
FMC Fire were looking to modernise their website, bringing in functionality that would reduce the admin required to process orders from the website due to increased demand, while providing a face lift at the same time. The website was to be built in WordPress using WooCommerce as they were familiar with the platform previously.
The Challenge: No Prices, Only Quotes
FMC Fire does not have set prices for their products and as such did not wish to display any prices for their products. Instead, they wanted people to be able to add products to a basket that can be sent for a quote. This functionality fell outside of WooCommerce’s default abilities and needed a solution without breaking the clients budget.
The solution:
We took the criteria from FMC Fire and ruled out using custom code to achieve the desired functionality. We turned our attention to finding a WordPress plugin that could do what we needed and decided on using a plugin that turns a WooCommerce store into a quote system.
The results for our client
The end result for our client has been an upgraded website, better looking, more suited to SEO and with time savings for the team due to the streamlined process the new site has put into the order process.
